Even Numbers, Dr. Drew & Sunny Days

Thursday, November 12, 2009

01. The sunshine made me happy today.
02. Sometimes all a heart needs is blue skies.
03. I now drive on the 520 Bridge with all the Microsofties going to Redmond on Wednesday mornings.
04. It makes me feel like a true Seattlite.
05. Although I am drinking a smoothie instead of Starbucks.
06. I really like those yoplait triple berry smoothies from Costco.

07. Only 140 calories in the whole pouch. Nice.
07 1/2. Plus, it doesn't take much effort for me in the morning.
07 3/4. Which is good because I am a last minute morning person.
07 7/8. But I do love the night time. Hence the time of this posting (well and most of my post).
08. On most Wednesday mornings, always in the same place, I see a bald eagle sitting on those weird metallic artwork structures in Lake Washington, just off the bridge.
09. Does anyone even know what those structures are?
09 1/2. We've searched all over google for the back story on them to no avail.
10. Seeing the bald eagle as I drive over the bridge warms my little heart and makes me love the northwest.
11. While I float over the water, I make up a story about the eagle and his bald family and how he owns that weird metallic structure that sits in the water just off the bridge.
12. I got to go to the Nordstrom corporate building on Tuesday.
13. I felt very fancy when they buzzed me in.
14. The ladies were super nice so then I wasn't nervous anymore. Phew.
15. Pen Thai is the best thai in Seattle.
16. This continues to be reconfirmed to me everytime I go.
17. This wasn't supposed to be the point of my rambles.
18. But I got sidetracked with smoothies and floating bridges.
19. So here it is.
20. Scott and I have a deal (you might remember) that if we get a chance to makeout with our top celebrity crush that we can't get mad at each other.
21. Well tonight on Conan, it was confirmed in my heart that Dr. Drew Pinksy is on my top 3 for sure.

22. He is so sexy to me.
23. Therapy savy.
24. Respectable and emotionally grounded.
25. Delicious.
26. I daydream that he will call me someday to be his co-therapist at his fancy addiction clinics.
27. What a nerdy thing to daydream about.
28. Speaking of late night - I really like Jimmy Fallon. Especially when he laughs at himself.
29. He seems like the kid in high school that everyone loved.
30. I know this because I stay up late.
31. And Scott has to fall asleep with the tv on.
32. So I watch Jimmy, and blog, and listen to Scott sleeping next to me.
33. Now I will go read Catching Fire because when I am not thinking about anything I am thinking about these books.
34. I hope this finds you well.
35. Let's catch up soon.
36. I want to end on an even number. Sorry, Lisa.

Loved this post! It's funny to picture you with a smoothie among all the Starbucks. There's a metaphor in there somewhere, right?

This post makes me want to visit Seattle.

But. . .

The Dr. Drew stuff is just wierd.

And I love those smoothies too.

This is a fun post. I love it. I love bald eagles and I love that you have a crush on Dr. Drew. Never really noticed him in that way before. But deep down I hope you don't ever work with him because then he might really fall in love with you!

I want to try those smoothies. Yum.

You know, I hate to break this to you, but Michael and I are convinced that bald eagle is fake. Because he is always there. In that exact spot. Have you ever seen him move???

And Dr. Drew? YES, PLEASE. I agree with everything you said about him. His Vh1 rehab shows are the only reality TV I watch and it's only because of him. There is something about his desire to help, his GIFT for helping and. . . .man, Love Him!

I agree about Pan Thai and I love that I can contribute to a Seattle love! ONE WEEK!

I've always thought Dr. Drew was quite daper myself and I've always thought that he's probably a wonderful father to his triplet kids.

Do you have to blend that smoothie mix? Sounds really really yummy. I started salivating when you mentioned Thai. It's been a long time since I've had Thai.

We miss you! Thanks for giving us a day in the life of Aimee. Feels like we are catching up. I don't know if Rik will be well by this Saturday! :( The bug is still going strong.

I'm a big fan of Jimmy too, especially love his thank you notes.

When we first moved to Seattle, we were sure those metal things were some weather tracking device. Then someone told us, no, they were pieces of art. Now, I'm a big fan of art in general, but those things just make me laugh- they are so random and so 70's. It really makes me wonder about the whole every public works project has to have a budget for artwork thing. (Which is my theory to explain the fiber-optic glow sticks in Kenmore.) I mean let's just be frank, sometimes it is simply a waste of tax dollars. Really, what work of art can beat the incredible views of Lake Washington from the 520 bridge?

OK, soapbox finished. Sorry.

Also, I'm pretty sure that someone made a porno about Dr. Drew. I saw it on Jimmy Kimmel, and I really couldn't tell if it was a joke that Kimmel did, or if it was real. Whatever the case, the Dr. did not looked to pleased about it. Soooo, you're probably not alone in your crush. ;)

(My apologies for the world's longest comment.)

I used to daydream about becoming a therapist for a fancy pancy place as well, until I realized that therapy was not my passion and prevention was. There is nothing fancy about prevention, anywhere.

I love bald eagles. I am jealous you get to see them so often. Aren't they majestic!

I also love Jimmy Fallon. However, since having a baby and trying to sneak in as much sleep as possible, I don't ever get the chance to watch. When he laughs at his own jokes it is the best, because that is something I always do. His skits seem like they are skits I would watch sitting at my desk in homeroom.

Thanks for sharing your rambles.

Darn even numbers! Get back to Catching Fire. Nothing is more important right now than getting Katniss out of that arena. I love your Dr. Drew crush. Now that you pointed it out I guess he is sort of cute, but not in the top 3 sort of way for me.

This is a fun post. I could just see you sitting in bed, next to sleeping Scott, beautifully rambling on and giggling to Jimmy Fallon. Loved it.
