Enhance Your TV Watching Experience

So Devin & Emily got here earlier today and we had a great day which I will update about later....but in the meantime... as we were catching up on our Thursday night TV treats (30 Rock & The Office), Devin gave our tv remote a fabulous upgrade. For those with Comcast & DVR I think you will find this techy-tip pretty fantastic. Here is a little remote programing trick that will give you a Tivo-like 30 second skip for skipping commercials on Comcast's DVR. It takes less than 30 seconds to program and is quite delightful.
It is great when fast forwarding through commercial breaks. No more pushing fast forward until you see the show is back on... all you have to do it press it a few times and you are there! Ahh.... technology; so glad we are friends.
Here are the EASY directions:
1. Press the "cable" button at the top of the remote to put it into Cable Box control mode.
2. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "Cable" button blinks twice.
3. Type in the code 994. The "Cable" button will blink twice.
4. Press (do not hold) the "Setup" button.
5. Type in the code 00173 for the 30 second skip.
6. Press whatever button on the remote you want to map the skip function to. (Devin used the "Lock" button which apparently has no great purpose so you might as well use it too. The Lock button is above the Page Up bottom and below the Back Arrow button. It has a triangle with an A inside it).

I tried this a couple of times and it didn't work. Am I missing a step?
